Hertz

Hertz (Hz) is the international system of units for frequency. It's base unit is measured in cycles per second. In simple terms a hertz means one per second, 10 Hz means ten per second and so on. Like all international system of units hertz can be prefixed.

• 1000 Hz = 1 kHz (kilohertz, 10³ Hz)
• 1000 kHz = 1 MHz (megahertz, 10⁶ Hz)
• 1000 MHz = 1 GHz (gigahertz, 10⁹ Hz)
